Mayor's Monthly Message - MARCH 2026

On behalf of myself and Council Members, we would like to thank our Public Works Department for their exceptional efforts during the recent winter storms.  Successfully plowing over 550 streets is no small feat.  Their commitment to maintaining our community’s safety and accessibility during challenging conditions is commendable.  We thank them for their hard work and resilience.

As we wait for the arrival of spring on March 20th, don't forget to set your clocks ahead an hour on Sunday, March 8th—it's time to spring forward! This seasonal change also serves as a perfect reminder to check the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Ensuring these safety devices are working is crucial for your home’s safety.

In celebration of "Read Across America and Dr. Seuss Day," we invite our students to dive into the whimsical world of books! Whether you're a young child or simply young at heart, remember that every page turns opens a door to adventure. As Dr. Seuss reminds us, “You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child!”  Our Public Library is the heart of our community, where we come together to learn, discover, create, and connect. Let’s make reading a joyful experience for everyone and grab a book, find a cozy nook, and let the adventures begin!

With youth sports preparing for April Opening Day, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers, who without them there would be no youth sports programs.  Everything Council does is based on our community, so think about becoming a volunteer as a coach or joining the Earth Day Cleanup in April, be part of a neighborhood watch, we are always in need of volunteers.

We look forward to seeing you soon at one of our great events and stay safe, be healthy.

March 10            Family Movie Night in our Performing Arts Center/Theater, with Kpop Demon Hunter starting at 5:45 until 8:00 p.m.  (Bring your blankets and chairs, we will supply the rest).

March 11th         Senior Bingo at 12 Noon at Community Center

March 28th        Easter egg Hunt at 9:00a.m. at the Community Center

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all our families and friends!
