Mayor's Monthly Message - December 2024

The Holidays are here! We ask everyone to shop local this year. Visiting and patronizing our local businesses supports the thousands of jobs they create. Shopping local is a great way to keep your property taxes stable because of the huge ratable base our businesses have in Deptford. We have a great variety, dining entertainment and shopping.

Our event schedule is ongoing with our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony December 6^th, Senior Bingo December 11^th, at the Community Center, and our Senior Winter Wonderland Event on December 12^th from 6 to 8 pm. Thank you to our fantastic Recreation Team for producing these events.

Please drive safely this season. Police patrols are monitoring traffic, neighborhoods and businesses. Deptford Township has over 50,000 visitors per day after Thanksgiving and with that traffic, comes vehicular accidents. So drive defensively and safely and let’s enjoy the holiday shopping experience.

We want to welcome our new businesses ~ PJ Whelan’s, Mocha Tea, and Sole Control. These are just the newest additions to our business community. We are looking forward to Grocery Outlet, Scott Honda dealership, a new movie theatre and more to come in 2025. We thank all of our residents for helping us build this great community and if you are new to DeptfordTownship, we “welcome” you!
