Overview
Deptford Township is 17.5 square miles with a population of approximately 30,000. The Township acts as a throughway to almost every major highway in the State of New Jersey. Estimates of 100,000 commuters travel in Deptford Township on a daily basis.
The emergency medical services is among the busiest of the communities in Gloucester County. The Emergency Medical Services responds to approximately 5,000 incidents per year. There are currently eight full time employees and thirty-five part time employees that operate on a 24-hour schedule. There are two crews on duty twenty-four hours per day, Sunday through Saturday. The Emergency Medical Services is operated under the direction of the Chief of EMS, Deputy Chief of EMS and three Supervisors.
The Department operates under the following schedule:
6:00AM - 2:00PM
8:00AM - 4:00PM
2:00PM - 10:00PM
4:00PM - 12:00AM
10:00PM - 6:00AM
12:00PM - 8:00AM
