Fingerprinting (appointments are highly recommended)
In most circumstances, the Deptford Township Police Department does NOT provide fingerprinting services as has been customary in years past. We will fingerprint persons ONLY for Federal employment and any non-New Jersey (Out-of-State) background check.
The fingerprinting service is free-of-charge to persons who are residents of Deptford Township who can provide:
1) proof of residency,
2) photo identification, and
3) applicant fingerprint cards furnished by the requesting agency.
Appointments can be made by calling Corporal Edward Kiermeier at (856) 686-2204 Ext. 1227, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. All other fingerprinting services are provided through the State-contracted vendor, IdentoGO.
Fingerprints required for one of the purposes not covered by the Deptford Township Police Department, can be made by contacting IdentoGO to schedule an appointment. The most convenient way to schedule an appointment is via the internet at www.identogo.com. Internet scheduling is available 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week. Applicants who do not have internet access may call the company’s toll-free number at (877) 503-5981 (Monday - Friday 8 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 12PM). IdentoGO provides a toll-free TTY telephone number, (800) 673-0353, for hearing impaired applicants with a modem equipped telephone. Spanish-speaking operators are available upon request. Applicants must download and complete the appropriate Universal Form prior to contacting IdentoGO for a fingerprint appointment. The completed Universal Form must be brought to the applicant’s scheduled fingerprint appointment. The applicant must bring the proper identification as outlined on the Universal Form.
Any questions regarding the use of these forms can be directed to the New Jersey State Police Criminal Information Unit at (609) 882-2000 Ext. 2918. Additional information on criminal history background checks may be found on the New Jersey State Police website.
