Deptford Township residents are invited to a public meeting of the Deptford Environmental Commission on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 7:00PM, for a power point presentation of the Environmental Research Inventory (ERI), a document of the Township’s natural resources.
The meeting will be held in the Municipal Building at 1011 Cooper St. in Deptford. Officials from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) will present a final draft of the ERI. The ERI provides information about the natural characteristic and environmental features of a municipality including surface and ground water, soils, geology, steep slopes, wetlands, open space, human impacts and regulatory framework.
The DVRPC has been working closely with the environmental commission since August, 2009 to prepare the ERI. The grants for the research were funded by the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) and the DVRPC, and matching funds from the Deptford Township.
The final draft of the ERI document is posted on the link below for residents to review prior to attending the meeting on April 20th. A copy of the report will also available for public review at the Township Clerk’s Office. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and submit comments.
