Meet the Mayor

Mayor Medany is a lifelong resident of Deptford Township. His wife, Joan, is also a lifelong resident and proud graduate of Deptford High School. All three of their children were raised in the Township.  The Mayor is a project manager and member of UA Local 322 Pipefitters, and also holds a state Master Plumber’s license.

Mayor Medany has been active in the community for many years. He is a past vice president of Deptford Little League and a member of the Deptford Planning Board. The Mayor also belongs to the Deptford Elks, the Knights of Columbus, the Deptford Democrat Club, the Deptford Lions, is a member of the Volunteer Hall of Fame and is a Rutgers certified safety instructor. He has served on Council for the last 13 years and is a past President and currently the Vice President of the Gloucester County Mayors Association.

The residents of Deptford are fortunate to have a great volunteer community.  Our firefighters, scout organizations, recreation and youth sports, Deptford Day and various Township committees and boards all are dedicated to the community in which we live.  The success of our Township is due to our team effort, and this includes you!

If you have a question or concern, residents may complete an Online Citizens Request Form to submit a formal complaint about any municipal service or program, or to inform the Township about the need for improvements in their neighborhood area, such as road or sidewalk repairs, street lighting, litter, etc.
